Foods class is visiting The Grocery People. They are the company that we get our grocery deliveries from, and they have a giant new warehouse on 142 St and 116 Ave that they invited us to for food demonstrations and a tour of the facility. Students will be shown how to make 3 of the mother sauces, tomato, bechamel and velouté and taste them all at the end with some pasta. Then they will tour us through the warehouse and explain how they operate for commercial kitchens and for individuals as a grocery store TGP has been Inner City’s food supplier for about ten years!
