Reopening for In-Class School - Monday Jan 10/22

January 7/2022

We will resume in-class school on Monday, January 10/2022.

Due to the Covid-19 health situation, we are taking the following precautions to keep students and staff safe:

  • School will start at 8:45 am and end at 3:15 pm.

  • We will not have school circles until the Covid-19 situation improves.

  • Covid screening will take place at the front door.

  • The timetable will change to one morning class and one afternoon class:

o If your class is in blocks 1, 5 and 6 they will be in the afternoon

o If your class is in blocks 2, 3, and 4 they will be in the morning

o If you have option classes, we will confirm scheduling on Monday.

  • Breaks will be staggered throughout the day based on classes and cohorts.

  • Lunches and snacks will be delivered to classes and coffee will be in classrooms.

  • Lockers are only accessible at breaks.

  • Masks must be worn at all times.

  • Follow directional signs on halls and stairs.

If you are sick, you need to stay home. If you are sick at school, you need to go home.

If you test positive for Covid, and you are not fully vaccinated, you must self-isolate until you are symptom-free, and 10 days have passed since the start of your symptoms. If you are fully vaccinated, you may return to school when you are symptom-free, and 5 days have passed since the start of your symptoms. However, upon returning to school, you must mask continuously for the next 5 days. This means all snacks and meals must be eaten in an isolated area arranged by staff.

We will continue to support online learning if quarantine and/or sickness prevents in-class learning. We will reassess online supports by the end of semester 1B (end of January 2022).

On behalf of the school Administration and staff, we look forward to seeing you again in person on Monday!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Joudrie
Principal, Inner City High School
