Career Opportunity: Psychological Assistant

We are looking for an individual who possesses strong organizational and computer skills, coupled with a warm and easy-going disposition.  


Reporting to the School Counsellor the position involves:

  • Conducting semi-structured interviews in a one on one setting with students to discover strengths, needs and assist with student placement

  • Assisting with the creation of behaviour plans, action plans, and educational plans

  • Conducting standardized level A and B psychoeducational testing

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop student program plans

  • Work as part of the inclusive education team to complete documents related to assessment, observation and student progress

  • Help to organize and manage student records

  • Work in collaboration with other staff to provide a full range of services to Edmonton’s high risk youth

  • Ongoing training is provided

  • A social justice orientation is essential

  • Familiarity with the DSM-5 is critical

  • Willingness to take on assorted related duties


Hours of Work: 
Monday – Friday 8:15 am – 4:15 pm

Commensurate with experience

Graduate in arts or sciences with a major in psychology. Studies in abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, learning and behaviour are optimal.
